Notice of Availability for Environmental Assessment
Phase II is part of Long Beach Airport’s Terminal Area Improvement Plan (TAIP), a major makeover that will improve the passenger experience from the curb to the gate. One portion of the TAIP is restoration and revitalization of the historic 1941 terminal building, a local historic landmark. The FAA directed Long Beach Airport to conduct an Environmental Assessment (EA) specifically for the work on the terminal building. The EA is part of the federal National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process, which is required due to federal funding for the project.
As outlined in the Notice of Availability (NOA) document below, the public is invited to submit comments on the draft EA for 30 days, beginning on October 1st, 2019. Please read the documents below for more information.
