The Long Beach Airport and its tenants and users are committed to operating in an environmentally responsible manner. We are committed to minimizing the impact of our business on the environment and surrounding community with methods that are socially responsible, scientifically based and economically sound. We make progress toward becoming as “green” an airport as possible each day we operate under this commitment. Our dedication goes beyond simply complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
Here at the Long Beach Airport, we have developed and applied programs that promote clean air and water, conserve energy, and reduce land fill wastes through our storm water management program and landscaping policies, our equipment and vehicle purchasing policies, and our recycling program. We’re also working on implementing programs that will include alternative energy generation such as solar power, air pollution prevention by providing electric vehicle charging stations for both passenger vehicles and ground service equipment, and utilizing green building practices in our renovation and new construction projects.
